Membership Experience

GIC has club meetings every Wednesday evening in the Tozzi Financial Trading Center. During these meetings, members come together to pitch an investment with their group, as well as engage in a discussion or debate about market events. Additionally, senior members also hold a discussion around some niche topics in finance. Through this, members  gain a engaging platform to voice their thoughts as well as interact with other different perspectives to ultimately develop a holistic view of the topic.

Speaker Series

Donna L. Snider

Donna Snider is a Managing Director at Kresge’s Investment Office. She has previously served as a Director of Global Markets and Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch. She graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Mathematics from University of Notre Dame University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She is also a member of the Society of Actuaries.

​

Donna gave a presentation on value-driven investing strategies and an introduction to social investing.

This semester, GIC initiated a speaker series, through which GIC utilizes its alumni network to bring in speakers. These speakers are experienced professionals at renowned firms. Through the speaker series, the members of GIC get the unique opportunity to have insightful conversations with senior professionals and leaders in the financial world. Additionally, this also allows the members of GIC to establish a personal relationship with senior professionals as they take their first steps in their career.

​

This past semester, GIC had Ms Donna Snider from The Kresge Foundation speak to the club.

Outside of club meetings, GIC has a culture that encourages members to develop relationships that will last during and after their time at Michigan. GIC organizes several social events both for the entire club as well as within investment teams throughout the year to create a strong-knit community.
